So far, I’ve built 40 systems: designed, obtained the permits, and done the bulk of the work. One of these, the largest PV system in Sebastopol, includes arrays on 13 different buildings.  Take a look at pictures of some of my installations on the Photos page.

In addition, I’ve helped build many other systems, and I’ve done maintenance on the PV systems I’ve built, and on other systems.

I’ve also assisted with design, and drawn the electrical diagrams, for dozens of other systems.

When I make an offer,  I precisely measure the amount of sun and shade on the site with a Solmetric Suneye shade analysis tool. I copy the records of your electric use for a 12 month period. I then analyze production and financial results using Power Pro software. I then provide a detailed written analysis with my proposal. Before you decide, you’ll have a clear idea how much of your electric use will be offset, what all the upfront costs will be, and how long it will take before your electric bill savings have covered your expenses - providing free electricity from then on for the life of the system.

My analysis can include the ramifications of financing a system. Frequently, this can give the customer a completely positive cash flow from the outset. Sonoma County offers a financing option which is a good choice for many: the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program (SCEIP) Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loan . I’m a registered SCEIP installer. See their website here SCEIP

On each job I draw up professional plans and wiring diagrams, and make up a complete document package to apply for a building permit, to guide construction, and as a record for the customer. I handle all permits and inspections, and arrange for interconnection with PG&E.

New systems are covered by a 5 year installation warranty, in addition to the equipment manufactures’ warranties (25 years for the modules, 10 to 25 for inverters - ask for details.)

Most of my systems are grid inter-tied. Many include battery storage. Three have backup generators. Five track the sun.  I’ve worked with many makes of equipment, including: Suniva, Sharp, Kyocera, Uni-Solar, Siemens, Evergreen, SMA, Fronius, Enphase, Outback, Power-One, Xantrex, PV Powered, UniRack, DPW, IronRidge, Quick Mount PV, ProSolar, Zomeworks, Wattsun, Kohler, Bogart and others.

Please call me to see if a solar electric system would work for you.  Initial advice and estimates are free. I’d be glad to make arrangements for you to see systems I’ve built, or to talk to their owners.
